bILLY JOE GREEN

Billy Joe Green would like to retire, but the phone just keeps on ringing. Calls from Saskatoon, Vancouver, Prince Albert, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, James Bay and Great Whale, Quebec, keep Billy Joe & his small but very aggressive sounding band busy every year.

The telephone also rings locally from Winnipeg, Lake of the Woods, Fort Frances and Thunder Bay areas. Recently, Billy Joe's has been negotiating terms to perform at many American Indian Casino's across the United States.

As one of Canada's premier blues guitar slingers, Billy Joe earned his rambunctious, no frills approach to the guitar honestly, as a hard drinking, swaggering sideman for countless other than main stream configurations of bluesy, rocking, high voltage, loud and progressive bands. He's worked with the drive & passion that would frustrate most musicians throughout western Canada and for a time in the western USA, patiently & diligently trying to find a place for his music. Billy Joe has been described as 'an incredibly talented, diverse and well-traveled musician' by SCENE Roots & Blues Magazine, and the description is well-earned.

Three decades later, a clean & sober Billy Joe and his 3 CD efforts, have all been nominated for a Juno Award. Along with a five win sweep at the 2006 Winnipeg Blues.com Music Awards, two Best Blues CD Awards at the 2006 and 2009 Aboriginal People's Choice Awards, the Best Male Artist at the 2002 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, a Best Aboriginal Recording Award at the 2001 Western Canadian Music Awards and countless other nominations, Billy Joe still pursues his love, passion and devotion for the electric guitar.

He is preparing to take a new direction on his next effort, perhaps re-arranging & recording songs he had written when his children were young.

B.O.D.M.
Bruthers of Different Muthers

Since their CD release of Speakers of Tomorrow in 2009, B.O.D.M is stirring a high degree of interest in both the aboriginal and mainstream market. Everything they create comes from pure inspiration and translates into deeply expressive, explosive, emotion-wrenching music.

"We've always wanted to make a stance in the movement of real traditional rock with an "ndn" edge", explains Michel. "This recording means a lot to the group, because we actually used our live touring gear for a more real live sound. Donovan had his own amp and guitar Marshall stack for more sound, and drums are huge live and in your face and captured that sound I was looking for on a recording. We're very happy with our sound. This record is true Alter-native rock!!! The guitars are thick; everything is just 'real' sounding."

Aptly named, the first single "Speakers of Tomorrow" not only is a pithy sounding sing-along rock song, but also carries a strong message that speaks to all generations. It challenges us to ask ourselves who will be the ones to carry-on the teachings and traditions for future generations. It asks us who will be the Elders of tomorrow.

As for the love and support the band has received, "now of course we did not get this music documented for free, we had some really good support from friends Jamie S and Sean from Seaside Studio Vancouver and cweed.com and CD Plus music store across Canada to name but some" says Michel. "We want to thank the true fans and basically anyone who heard the potential of B.O.D.M. We also thank all of our mothers and our fathers and Mother earth and the Creator for blessing us with the gift of sound n' soul. MEE-GWEETCH!!!"

C-Weed

Errol Ranville has been recording as C-Weed since 1980. Errol has released 17 albums to date. In 1980 the C-Weed Band, still an unknown, stunned the Country Music world upon the release of Robbie Robertson's song Evangeline, on Errol's first album, "The Finest You Can Buy". The song quickly rose to # 1 on the Canadian Country Radio charts, and marks the beginning of C-Weed Band popularity. Two years later the C-Weed band struck gold again as the song High and Dry, written by Jagger-Richards, also went #1 on the Country Music charts. Now wanting to write his own music, Errol recorded several albums (and continues to) using his own penmanship. Magic in the Music was nominated for a Juno Award in 1985 & 1986.

C-Weed has sold over 30,000 copies of the "Run as One" CD since its release in 2000.

The CD "Hey!" sold over 3500 copies within the first 3 months of its release.

Lost Priority

Lost Priority is an all Native rock group from a remote Oji-Cree community in northern Manitoba, Canada. On the surface, the band is reminiscent of Staind and Three Days Grace, but underneath the layers of heavy melodic vocals, chugging guitars, and hard hitting drums, listeners find uniquely Aboriginal stories and rhythms.

Lost Priority released their first album, entitled All That We Are in February 2009. The disc features 39 minutes of original material recorded at Stongfront A/V Productions in Winnipeg, Manitoba with the talented engineer Paul Katsnelson who co-produced the album. To celebrate the release, they joined forces with rock group B.O.D.M. for a double C.D. Release Party which took place on March 5, 2009 at the Pyramid Cabaret in WInnipeg.

With very little to do in Wasagamack, a First Nation community with over 1600 people , the boys spend a lot of time practicing. And since forming, they've been playing at every local music festival and other larger festivals in the surrounding communities. Half of the band doesn't speak English very well, which adds another entertaining dimension to their live shows. "I like pizza" is one of the few sentences that guitarist, Stanley Mcdougall, can say and he pulls it out every once in a while during their shows. Having won numerous talent shows and building a decent fan-base, they feel they are ready for bigger stages and larger audiences.
